About Shandong Institute of Hydrogen Energy Technology

Shandong Institute of Hydrogen Energy Technology (SIHET) is initiated by the China EV100, approved by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, and registered in the Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province, and sponsored by the Jinan Municipal Government.

Established in 2020, the institute is the first provincial-level research institution in Shandong Province specializing in hydrogen energy and related fields. The institute's team is young and dynamic, and it is one of the fastest-growing research institutes. It has now developed into an independent think tank and industrial collaborative innovation platform integrating policy consulting, industry exchange, technology research and development, achievement transformation, talent cultivation, and demonstration and promotion.

Background

With the joint support of Jinan Municipal Government and Jinan Start-up Area of Growth and Drivers Transformation, Shandong Institute of Hydrogen Energy Technology was officially inaugurated on September 22, 2019 at the "2019 Hydrogen Industry Development Innovation Summit Jinan" and formally registered on July 30, 2020 at Department of Civil Affairs of Shandong Province. It was located in Hydrogen Building, Qilu Avenue, Huaiyin District, Jinan City on October 1, 2020. Jinan Municipal People's Government and China EV100 signed a cooperation agreement at the "2020 Hydrogen Industry Development Innovation Summit Jinan" on October 15, 2020 so as to support the construction of Shandong Institute of Hydrogen Energy Technology. Located in Jinan, it has played an important role in promoting the development of hydrogen industry in Shandong Province.

Conduct industry research projects and serve

As a third-party think tank to provide policy consultation and decision-making references for government departments and industry practitioners;

Establish collaborative innovation centers

To engage in cross-disciplinary cooperation with enterprises, promote research and development, technology commercialization, and standard setting;

Guide regional hydrogen energy demonstrations

By providing guidance on planning, technology coordination, operation, and industrial implementation of hydrogen energy demonstration zones;

Build public service platforms

To provide necessary independent third-party services and management tools for enterprises and government departments;

Establish talent development bases

To attract high-level talents and cultivate research and management talents needed in the industry;

Guide social capital investment

Guide social capital investment and participate in the investment, construction, and commercial operation of hydrogen energy projects;

Organize industry exchange activities

To facilitate in-depth dialogues and discussions on major industry issues, promoting interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and cross-domain exchanges.
